April showers… Twiggies has flowers!!
Not many people can claim that they love their job, but we truly love what we do here at Twiggies. The ability to create and be surrounded by really pretty things each day is so wonderful. It is such a pleasure to come to work, we are blessed with clients and customers that are also our friends & are the reason we are here!
We have spent the winter months planning upcoming weddings, and now as the season is fast approaching, we are executing the process of producing the final results of spectacular! Weddings we do begin with hours of preparation and planning with special attention to detail.
Coming up in May, we have been contracted to design, decorate and produce a 50th wedding anniversary. I could not be more delighted to be working with these clients.
It started simple enough with Jim buying Marge flowers for Valentines one year at the shop and then Mothers Day rolled around and another order was placed for Marge from her loving husband Jim, he was very specific about not wanting roses in the bouquet, but rather something that was long lasting and a bit different. I am a person that loves a challenge, and I knew that Jim was a customer that I wanted to keep coming back. I vased up a fresh cut arrangement that was different, yet still traditional in many ways. When he came to pick it up, he was certain I had put roses in it… instead I made a selection of a beautiful soft bloom called lisianthus that has a similar shape. “Abrupt and all business” he called me out on
it to which I pointed out the difference and told him that this choice was one that was long lasting and beautiful for his occasion. Pleased…and a bit surprised with my need to please his special request, Jim went home with his arrangement and a smile on his face. It wasn’t long after, he stopped in one day. Jim informed a staff member that he was planning a 50th wedding anniversary and would like to discuss details with me and get a quote. I met with Jim and Marge; we talked for a couple of hours discussing details for the upcoming event and I booked the job. Although I am quite certain that this 50th anniversary celebration which will be held at the University Club is far more elaborate than the original wedding, what is clear to me is underneath all the fluff, Jim & Marge are still as much in love as they were nearly 50 years ago and are eager to celebrate with their closest friends and family. This is an example of why I love my job… I am blessed with amazing people that patron my business and it is my pleasure to be able to be part of their life occasions!
Twiggies congratulates our wedding clients and a special congratulation goes out to Jim & Marge for the wonderful celebration of 50 years together.
